Founded by brothers Jack and Michael Sheffren in 1956, this family business opened their first store on Laurentien Boulevard (now known as Marcel Lauren Boulevard) near Boulevard Gouin, in Montreal.

Later, two other brothers Irving and Marcus, joined the company and opened two more stores; one located at 1 Boulevard Des Laurentides and the other, in 1967,  at 355 Boulevard Des Laurentides, in Laval, which operates to this day, run by Marcus's son David.

Originally, the stores catered to all family members in a wide assortment of categories. Today, the store focuses on medium priced ladies contemporary clothing.

From the very beginning until today, Sheffren’s has always emphasized quality, value, and customer service second to none.
